Logitech Harmony 880 Remote Control
This replaced the usual aggregation of A/V remotes from different brands(HDTV, DVD, VCR, CD, Receiver, TiVo, ComcastHD...) The set-up with the Logitech web-site was easy and intuitive. When things don't go (which seems proportional to the number of components involved), the "help" button gets you there as it debugs what's wrong. The power cradle provides the opportunity to know where the remote is and ensure it's fully charged. What a concept...

This remote simplified my entertainment center.

I've got an off brand LCD TV, Sceptre; a Pioneer VSX-81 receiver, an Apple TV, an Xbox 360, PS3, DirecTv DVR. This device controls them all (except the PS3, whose remote is bluetooth as compared to everything else being infrared) and configures the TV and receiver to the correct setting all with the push of an Activity button.

Using a computer you can add your devices and create Activities that can be selected. It takes some time to setup, but once it's all configured you'll wonder how you managed without.

My wife could never even begin to watch TV, now she can do it all.

I highly recommend this remote for anyone with more than 2 devices connected to their TV.

It will even control ceiling fans and anything else controlled by an infrared remote.

FINALLY, easy and it really does work!.......2007-06-10

When anyone wants to buy a universal remote, usually the first try is a cheap one from the local electronics store or even the drug store. Stop wasting your money and get this product. It really is easy to set up and will do some very cool tricks for you. One example is when you set the remote to "watch tv", it will turn on the cable box, tv and receiver and set everything to work together. Literally took 5 remotes out of my hand(s) in 30 minutes! Buy this!

The Logitech Harmony's best feature is that I handed it to my wife and it worked for the first time out. No other remote, and especially no combination of remotes, has that feature and it's one that, as Tech Support guy in my house, I just love. The thing is also easy to set up and easy to customize. Good show, Logitech!!

Great Remote.......2007-06-09

This remote is really nice. The first remote I recieved from amazon had a broken volume button, but amazon shipped another and it works perfect. I use the remote to control my tv, dvd player, cable box and media pc All of my devices except the media pc were simply checkbox options in the logitech software. To control the media pc, I used a firefly rf infrared reciever hooked into my pc, and then simply added the firefly mini as a device to the logitech remote (it is a device option in the logitech software!). Then I used event ghost to map the IR signals to keystrokes on the computer so that I can fully use the logitech remote to control my media pc. Works great and I would recomend this remote to anyone. Also, the "activities" on the remote are really nice. You can create an activity like watch tv, and the remote will turn on your tv, turn it to the right input, turn on the cable etcc... so you only have to hit one button.
