I bought this for my son's old laptop as the usb ports are in back under a lid, so he could not insert a pen drive. This usb port work wonderful and has opened up many options for him.

It does have a short cord, but long enough to reach the front of an older desktop computer with USB 1.1 connections only on the back. Short cord could be a plus for laptops: Less tangling.

I bought this product not to long ago because i was using an older computer with only 2 usb ports. When I saw other prices they were pretty high for a USB hub. I purchased this hub for $3.49 plus shipping which I thought was a bit pricy that is the only reason I give it 4 stars quality of the hub is alright it has nice secure plug in but if shipping cost 2 times as much i would re consider but it was worth it

The Mini-Hub worked without a hitch, and seems robust. Just be sure the short cord is not a problem for you.
