The Snap Server 1100 typically installs in less than five minutes without the need for additional configuration of other servers or clients on your network. Just plug in the power, connect the RJ-45 Ethernet cable and turn on the Snap Server. Right out of the box the Snap Server 1100 delivers full multi-platform file sharing in mixed Windows, NetWare, UNIX, Linux, and/or Macintosh environments. Added benefits include configurable file security and integration into existing simple network security structures, all with no network downtime. As a highly optimized system tuned for a single purpose, the Snap Server 1100 solves common storage challenges. The Snap Server 1100 relieves your laptop and desktop backup headaches. Free Symantec PowerQuest DataKeeper software (unlimited user license) provides constant backup of desktop files. Laptop files are backed up to local drives while disconnected from the network, then are automatically saved to the Snap Server 1100 when the laptop is reconnected to the network. Are you sure your tape backup job completed? What about a bare metal restore? Use a Snap Server as a backup location and access it through your network to confirm job status or access images. Restore data in a fraction of the time and never worry about an unchanged tape again. Optional Server-to-Server Synchronization software can even automate data migration to another Snap Server. Symantec PowerQuest V2i Protector, available separately or in a special solution bundle, stores and retrieves disk images on a Snap Server.
