Customer Reviews:

1 out of 5 stars Please discontinue this incredibly worthless printer.......2006-11-19

Lets begin by saying, it's my fault. I've been buying HP printers for 14 years and everytime they are a nightmare and why I go back must be masochism or simple stupidity. Maybe it's price and I might just be cheap.

This printer never scanned anything worth its salt. Never finished a photo print, even with the many rebuilds on my system for a 'clean install'. Never aligned paper correctly on the intake tray. The USB cable likes to magically fall out during a high res photo print on expensive paper, thereby ruining the paper. Installation: set aside a few hours. 350MB for drivers? Please make the insanity stop.

SOLUTION: I vow from today, never to buy another HP product in my lifetime. I gave them so many chances and I have been disappointed consistently from day one. Of course, I bought new ink cartridges to test my printer, which cost me more than the printer itself, and VOILA! it doesn't work. So I just gave the accounting people at HP more money.

Don't buy this printer. This is a warning.

PROS: It prints wordpad and text documents. But they are still off alignment. So it is useful for one thing, proofing text.

1 out of 5 stars Horrible! Don't waste your money!.......2006-06-08

This printer will NOT print labels correctly. I'm assuming there's a problem with the feed, because all my projects print FINE on regular paper, but when I put the labes in the feed, the alignment is ALWAYS wrong. I've tried re-aligning everything in the page setup but that does not work. What a waste of money.

1 out of 5 stars Substandard product.......2006-05-12

Cons
The color ink cartridge dries up and stops working if you don't use it for a few days. I would print in b&w for a few days, then go to print a color page and the colors would be blurry and streak. Happened with multiple cartridges.

The software is enormous in size, cumbersome, buggy, and not particularly useful.

After using my previous HP printer for years (25,000 pages printed), this one is a hunk of junk with in 3 months. It looks like HP's quality has declined. Bought a Canon, which has been flawless so far, both in software and the scanning and printing.

Pros
Black and white print jobs work and are very fast.
Scanner scans.
Fairly compact for an all-in-one.

1 out of 5 stars terrible printer!.......2006-04-24

Absolutely horrible!! After installing and unistalling several times, I finally took it back to the store. Brought new one home..after two more times installing and reinstalling, got it working or so I thought. Prints when it wants to, not real good photo print quality, ok text documents. The software that comes with the printer sounds like a nice idea but more than half the time the pictures stop downloading (even with very small sizes and quantity) I will never purchase from hp again

4 out of 5 stars Good little workhorse.......2006-04-20

(Actually 4.5 stars...) I've had my 1350 for almost 3 years. Yes, it's had a few problems, but tech support was good at getting me up and running again... until recently. Make sure you talk to the printer support folks, not notebook or desktop. The main difficulty was scanning docs into fax docs. Technically, the 1350 doesn't support fax, but there are workarounds that let you scan in a doc for faxing. It's good at the scans... sometimes surprising me with the quality. The most frequent problem was a document got really stuck in the print queue. Tech support usually has you uninstall the printer and re-install it. Though, last time, I simply did a "Restore" to a previous day. It doesn't like heavy papers like cardstock, or onionskin. ...does a relatively decent job on photos. But, if you're real picky about photo quality, the 1350 is not for you. For all-around everyday use, letters and stuff, I'd highly recommend it for the price. Also, shop around for print cartridges... Target... Costco, etc. Look for the office supply store specials... they can go for up to 50% less. While I wouldn't say mine has taken a licking and kept on ticking, there were times when I marvelled at how it did what I wanted when technically it shouldn't have. A tough little critter, but a bit of a diva on occasion.
